Elam Walsh. Mother of the late (Teenager) Donal Walsh

22-February-24
Dear Parent,

I am taking this opportunity to write to inform you that Elma Walsh, mother of the Kerry teenager, Donal Walsh who died of cancer in 2013 is visiting the school next Tuesday to meet and address the second year students.

The reason for her visit is because, before Christmas there was a jersey day held in the school to raise money for cancer research. The idea came from Aideen Phelan and Abbey Lalor, both second year students in the school. The event raised €1000. The money is being donated to the Donal Walsh #LiveLife Foundation.

I am aware that a discussion around cancer can be a sensitive topic and concern for you and you children. Keeping this in mind, if you have a concern about your child attending this talk/presentation, please don not hesitate to contact me via email: dermot.murphy@mountrathcs.ie

Kind regards,
