I am pleased to welcome you to our new school website and to a new 2020-21 school year. We would like to extend a special welcome to all of the new families and staff joining Mountrath Community School this year and a welcome to all of our students, parents and staff and wish them all the best for this coming year.

As principal of this school I am privileged to serve our local community. Our goal here is to work together, as a community, to provide our students with a rich learning environment. Our vision is to always put our students first. In a collaborative effort, we want our students to thrive in all ways possible. Our hope is that all of our students and staff will experience a learning environment that is positive, safe, warm, caring, as well as a fun place to learn and grow.

Student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships we build within our community and this is MOST important now more than ever. It truly does take a village to raise a child and at Mountrath Community School we value teamwork and collaboration. Education is a collaborative venture and we greatly appreciate the support you provide for your children at home and at school to help them meet their learning goals. We greatly value the support you give through our extraordinary Parents’ Association.

Although this year looks different than any other year, we are dedicated to providing our students with a memorable, interactive, engaging learning experience. In the Mountrath Community School spirit, we pride ourselves on how we have met the constant challenges brought to us by the current pandemic. Here at Mountrath Community School we will be focusing on all of the positives that we can take from this experience and as role models in our students’ lives it is important that we display a positive attitude towards learning (including distance learning) each and every day.

We encourage you to do the same at home. We look forward to working with the whole school community to make Mountrath Community School a place

  • Where students want to come to learn
  • Where parents want to send their children
  • Where staff want to work
  • a place that the community want to be part of.
