Students Newsletter 5th Feb 2021

24-February-21

Friday, 5th February 2021.

Hi all,

We would like to congratulate you on all the excellent work that you have done over the past month and encourage you to keep this up for another week. We will then be able to recharge the batteries, take a break from our screens and come back refreshed after the midterm.

Just a few reminders:

  • Please keep to your timetables - If you do not have a live class. Work will have been set for you and you should do this work in the hour set for the class.
  • If you cannot attend a class or submit work, please let the teacher know.
  • If you are coming on to a class using someone else’s device, please let the teacher know beforehand.
  • If you feel overwhelmed or are getting too much work in a subject, please let the teachers know politely- We can only do something about things if we know about them.

Just so 3rd and 6th year students know, the school is still waiting for clarity from the Department of Education and Skills on the Leaving Certificate and the reopening of schools before a decision is made on the running of the Mock exams.

Student Council :

Student Council elections will take place on Monday for 6th years so please be on the lookout for the Google Forms which will be sent to you.

Everyone is getting to the very tired stage so take a break this weekend - take part in the PE Challenge or the Bake Off. Do something different.

PE Challenge

The PE department has launched a Wellbeing Challenge for you in your PE Classrooms. Try to take a break and take part in this ‘MCS February PE Challenge’ over the next two weeks and to make use of the “extra stretch” in the evening to get out for a run, walk or jog. Details of this can be found in the attachments below- follow links for further information on Strava Clubs etc. Please email any pictures/videos/screenshots of your PE Challenge exploits to pe.challenge@mountrathcs.ie and tag @mountrathcs and @sportmcs on Social Media.
